On 28 May 2014, new data showed the Commission was on track to complete 95 of its 101 digital actions by 2015, which shows good progress.

The scoreboard showed that EU citizens and businesses were going online more, shopping more and they had greater confidence and skills in ICT.

However, they still lacked high speed broadband – especially in rural areas - to satisfy this digital appetite; and the looming digital skills gap was still a big problem.
