The European Aviation Safety Agency became operational on 28 September 2003. Its main task is to ensure a high level of safety and environmental protection in the field of civil aviation. The Agency assists the Commission in the exercise of its legislative and regulatory tasks and is also responsible for issuing certificates for aeronautical products and approvals for design and production bodies. |
