'The European Union and the Rights of the Child' is the name of a competition launched on 30 March 2006 by Franco Frattini, Commission Vice-President responsible for Justice, Freedom and Security. European children and adolescents between the ages of 10 and 18 were asked to create a poster on children’s rights in the EU. The competition sought to increase awareness among Europe’s younger citizens about EU action in this field.
