The UK Science Minister, Lord Sainsbury, speaking at the ESA Ministerial meeting in Berlin on 7 December 2005, confirmed that the United Kingdom would play a major role in Aurora, the European Space Agency's (ESA) space exploration programme and in ESA's environmental science programme.
