The European Commission decided on 27 October 2015 to appoint Ilze Juhansone, Paraskevi Michou and Jean-Eric Paquet as Deputy Secretaries-General. The appointments were made based on a proposal by EC president Jean-Claude Juncker and followed the nomination of Alexander Italianer as Secretary-General as of 1 September 2015.
