Press Release: Three new protocols will make Europol a more effective institution to aid police cooperation among the Member States

The Commission welcomes the entry into force of three new protocols to the Europol Convention. By increasing the resources of the organisation – which contributes to police cooperation in the European Union – the protocols will also bring tangible improvements to its scope for action. This step forward is all the more welcome as it has taken many years to achieve.
