On the 2nd October 2001 the European Commission proposed to concentrate investment on infrastructure projects for the trans-European transport network in an attempt to reduce bottlenecks and curb congestion. The Commission also proposed to update the list of priority projects and to raise the minimum level of Community financing for a number of critical railway projects and for cross-border projects in future accession countries. |
