The European Film Awards annually honour the greatest achievements in European cinema. During 2013's ceremony, which took place in Berlin on 7 December 2013, Androulla Vassiliou, European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, presented the most prestigious prize, the European Film of the Year. Legendary French actress Catherine Deneuve (The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, Belle Du Jour, Potiche) received a lifetime achievement award and Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar (Talk to Her, All About My Mother, The Skin I Live In, I’m So Excited) was honoured with the European achievement in world cinema award. |
