Press Release: WHO declares influenza pandemic – European Medicines Agency initiates crisis management plan

The World Health Organization (WHO), on 11 June 2009, raised its pandemic alert level for the A/H1N1 influenza virus to phase 6. The European Medicines Agency (EMEA) has a pandemic influenza crisis management plan in place, and has been working towards the implementation of this plan since the outbreak of the virus in April 2009.
