Pressure mounts on workers’ rights

Business representative in the United Kingdom are ramping up its lobbying on contentious rights for temporary workers September 2009 after Prime Minister Gordon Brown committed the government to legislating on agency workers in the parliamentary session 2009-10.

Trade Unions want the equal rights in the directive to come into force in April 2010, while business is lobbying for implementation to be delayed until the last possible date of autumn 2011.
