Summary:

Conference organised within the UK Presidency of the European Union in association with the British Screen Advisory Council. The Conference underlined three messages:

1. The cultural importance of audiovisual policy should not and cannot be underestimated;
2. The European Union (EU) needs a strong audiovisual industry with its job-creating potential;
3. The EU must seize the opportunity and harness the digital revolution to the benefit of Europe's peoples and creators.
