Progress towards meeting economic criteria for accession: the assessment from the 2001 Regular Report.

In this Enlargement Paper, the Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs brings together into a single document the economic chapter of the Regular Report 2001 on progress made towards meeting the accession criteria by each candidate country, as well as the economic section of the 2001 Enlargement Strategy Paper. The European Commission adopted these documents on 13 November 2001. The purpose of this Enlargement Paper is to facilitate the work of those scholars, researchers and analysts of the enlargement process, who are mainly interested in the economic aspects.
