Putin eyes Gazprom tie-up with Ukraine to integrate gas producers

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin proposed a merger on the 30 April 2010 between Russia’s energy giant Gazprom and rival Naftogaz Ukraine as part of further efforts to integrate the two neighbours that some fear could see Russia take effective economic control over its neighbour.
