This EUMC report highlights the extent and nature of racist violence in the EU15 and provides a comparative overview of policy responses to the phenomenon. Information is presented about official and unofficial data collection mechanisms on racist violence in each of the EU15, and the report highlights the need for improved data collection in this important area. The report also makes suggestions about how data collection on racist crime and violence might be improved in an effort to better understand the problem and effectively respond to it.

Please note that the European Monitoring Centre on Racism and Xenophobia (EUMC) was replaced by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) in 2007.
