Raw materials: EU to call for commodity derivatives curbs

On 2 February 2011 the European Commission presented an overview of what has already been achieved at the EU level on the commodities markets and raw materials areas and on the steps which are planned to take the work forward.

The Commission reported that it intended to reinforce implementation of its 2008 raw materials initiative in an integrated strategy and to take forward discussions on these issues at international level, especially in the framework of the G20.
