Recruitment and equal opportunities systems in national, European and international civil services

The aim of this study is to provide an updated version of the study entitled ‘Recruitment and Equal Opportunities Systems’ published by the European Parliament in November 2000, adding information about those Member States that acceded to the European Union in 2004 and 2007. In addition, the study provides a comparative analysis of the officially adopted definitions of ‘gender mainstreaming’ and practices linked to this concept in the Member States.
