Regions – statistical yearbook 2003

As in previous years, the Yearbook uses maps, graphs and tables to highlight regional differences in a dozen different social and economic fields. Detailed commentaries then explain some of the interrelationships or provide useful background information for the user. Again, the Yearbook incorporates a CD-ROM with extensive data series and the electronic versions of the publication.

This year, the CD-ROM also includes an interactive application allowing the user to select from a range of data for the regions containing the capital cities of all current Member States and those acceding in 2004. Also new in the Yearbook's coverage are a section on the LUCAS land-use and land-cover survey, together with reflections on possible ways of calculating the relative wealth of Europe's regions. In this edition, “Tourism” returns as a separate chapter.
