Remarks by Commissioner King at the 4th Annual European Cyber Security Conference in Brussels

The 4th Annual European Cyber Security Conference took place in Brussels the 17 November 2016.In this conference, Commissioner King did a speech.

During his speech, it reminds the sucess of European Cybercrime Centre (EC3. It l has already become a central hub in the network of actors fighting cybercrime. In October 2016, the EC3 supported an operation resulting in the detention of 193 individuals for having travelled with tickets bought using stolen credit cards. 43 countries, 75 airlines and 8 online travel agencies were involved in this global operation which took place at 189 airports across the world.

He also reminded that in July the European Commission launched a €1.8 billion Public Private Partnership on cyber security with industry. The EU invested €450m with cyber security market players represented by the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO) expected to invest three times this figure.
