Text of a speech by Commissioner King at the Victims Support Europe Conference on Establishing Victims' Rights and Support Services in Challenging Times on the 29 November 2016. In this speech, he reminded firstly that Terrorism injured many people in Europe. These victims required specific protection, support and assistance that respond to their specific needs. In particular, they need physical and psychological support and medical treatment. The European Union worked together with the Voices of Victims of Terrorism to prepare the 13th commemoration of victims of terrorism. The European Commission also supported the victims support organisations. |
