Report assessing the progress reported by Italy on the recovery of the amount due from milk producers by virtue of the additional levy for the period 1995/1996 to 2001/2002

Summary:

Report presented on 12 July 2019 by the European Commission pursuant to Article 3 of Decision 2003/530/EC on the compatibility with the common market of aid that Italy intends to grant to its milk producers (deferred payment scheme).

Further information:

Under Decision 2003/530/EC, Italy granted aid to milk producers by itself making payment to the European Union budget of the amount due from them, by virtue of the additional levy for the period 1995/1996 to 2001/2002 and by allowing these producers to repay their debt by way of deferred payment over a number of years without interest.

Under Article 3 of the Decision, the Italian authorities must report annually on the progress made by them in recovering the amount due from the milk producers. On 9 November 2018 Italy presented their report concerning payment of the 2017 instalment.
