Summary: Report published by the European Commission on 31 May 2013, which offers an account of the state of the Schengen area and an overview of the implementation of the common rules amongst all Schengen participating countries for the period between November 2012 and April 2013. Further information: This Schengen 'health check' - a biannual overview on the functioning of the Schengen area - is published in accordance to a Communication from the European Commission on strengthening Schengen governmnent. This is the third biannual report and covers the period 1 November 2012 - 30 April 2013. These reports are aimed at providing the basis for a debate in the European Parliament and in the Council of the European Union and contributing to the strengthening of political guidance and cooperation between the Schengen countries. |
