This report delivers on the obligation of the European Commission pursuant to Article 156 of Regulation (EU) 2019/6 to present the findings of a feasibility study on an active-substance-based review system and other potential alternatives for the environmental risk assessment (ERA) of veterinary medicinal products (VMPs).

It also outlines the conclusions of the Commission with regard to the potential impacts, as well as the practicability of  implementing a new approach to ERA at the point of publication, considering that the existing legal framework on VMPs was only recently adopted and its implementation was still ongoing.
