Report on a motion regarding the loans to Ireland from the European Financial Stability Facility and the European Financial Stability Mechanism

Report from the Irish Parliament's Joint Committee on European Affairs following a Motion considered and agreed to at a meeting in December 2010.

Further information:

The Motion proposed that the Joint Committee undertook an examination of the terms of the loans made available to Ireland from the European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF) and the European Financial Stability Mechanism (EFSM). The aim would be to ascertain whether or not Ireland had got the best possible interest rate on these loans. It also requested the attendance of representatives of the European Commission, the European Central Bank (ECB), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Eurogroup and the EFSF.
