The European Commission published on 29 November 2018 a report on the partnership between the European Union (EU) and Lebanon for the period from May 2017 and May 2018. It highlights key developments in EU-Lebanon cooperation, with a particular focus on achieving the objectives set under the Partnership Priorities and Compact agreed by both sides in 2016.

Over the reporting period, Lebanon undertood a number of important legislative and administrative measures. A brief period of uncertainty surrounding the offer of resignation by the Lebanese Prime Minister was resolved in a constructive manner by national political leaders and parties, according to this report. In this context, the EU played a leading role in three important international conferences to promote stability and strengthen Lebanon's state institutions.

The report outlines that the EU-Lebanon Partnership Priorities and Compact provide a solid framework for further strategic development of EU-Lebanon cooperation.
