The European Economic Advisory Group (EEAG) was founded in 2001. Supported by ifo's research staff, it provides an annual report on the European Economy which includes a growth forecast as well as other topical European themes. In addition to an executive summary and a European economic forecast with special emphasis on the need to reform the Stability and Growth Pact, the Group again addresses several important policy issues. Among these are the reform of labour markets and pay-setting systems in Europe as well as the anti-discrimination clauses of the EU constitution. Special attention is given to the economic implications of EU enlargement for both the new and the existing member countries.
