Report on the exercise of the delegation conferred on the Commission pursuant to Regulation (EU) No 649/2012 concerning the export and import of hazardous chemicals

Regulation (EU) No 649/2012 (“the PIC Regulation”) implements the Rotterdam Convention on the Prior Informed Consent Procedure for certain hazardous chemicals and pesticides in international trade. Article 23(4) of the PIC Regulation empowers the Commission to adopt delegated acts for a five-year period running from 1 March 2014.

To date the Commission has exercised the delegated powers provided for by the PIC Regulation on three occasions in order to adapt the Regulation to technical progress.
