Summary:

Report published by the European Parliament's Committee of Inquiry on the Protection of Animals during Transport (ANIT) on the implementation of relevant rules by Member States of the European Union (EU) and the enforcement of those same rules by the European Commission.

Further information:

The ANIT Committee was set by the European Parliament in June 2020. During its 18-month mandate, the Committee held hearings with experts, gathered and published research, organised a questionnaire for Member States, and undertook fact-finding missions. In December 2002, the Committee held its final meeting with a debate and a vote on a number of amendments on the final report and recommendations. A debate and vote by the Parliament's plenary session took place in January 2022.
