Riot police removes former ERT employees from defunct state broadcaster’s headquarters

Greek riot police cleared the headquarters of the former state broadcaster ERT in the early hours of the 7 November 2013, using tear gas to gain entry and arresting several people.

Former employees had occupied the building since the government closed ERT and sacked its 2,600 staff in June 2013.

Greece's state broadcaster ERT went back on air on the 11 June 2015, two years after being closed down under austerity measures.
