Romania’s Social Democrats on track for landslide election win / Romania’s election: In spite of the PSD’s comeback, anti-establishment sentiment is stronger than ever

Romania's centre-left Social Democratic Party (PSD) staged a major comeback in Romania's general election held on the 11 December 2016.

PSD won 46% of the votes and their allies the Liberal Democratic Alliance (ALDE), got 6%, according to official results after the counting of 98% of the ballots. They were likely to form the new government
