Rome to set out plans to cut deficit / Rome to set out five-year plan to reduce deficit

The Italian Minister of Finance, Giulio Tremonti, presented a five-year plan for further reform of the country's public finances on 16 July 2001. The European Commission said that on the basis of this plan it would judge Italy's commitment to reducing its budget deficit.
