Pier Luigi Bersani has won the race to be the centre-left candidate for Italian PM in the 2013 general election, according to results of the second round of the primary election held on the 2 December 2012. The veteran Democratic Party leader was in a run-off with Florence Mayor Matteo Renzi, 37, to retain his post.
