Russia and Georgia close to deal

Article reports that Russia and Georgia on Thursday came close to agreement on a mechanism for preventing and resolving continuing violence in and around Georgia’s breakaway regions of South Ossetia and Abkhazia during internationally mediated talks in Geneva, December 2008.
