Russia may tighten foreign oil groups’ access to reserves

Russia's Natural Resources Minister, Yuri Trutnev, proposed on 13 June 2006 tightening restrictions on foreign oil companies and increasing the number of oil and gas fields which the Government regards as strategic. The move signals Russia's growing nationalistic policy towards energy resources.
