Russia restricts foreign bids

Foreign-owned companies will not be allowed to bid in tenders for Russia's oil and metals deposits. The ban is part of a trend by the Government of Vladimir Putin to reassert control over strategic areas of the country's economy and exclude foreigners from Russia's most lucrative assets.
