Russia’s crisis budget for 2016

On 4 December 2015 the Russian State Duma adopted a draft budget for 2016 at the third reading. The priority was given to spending on security & defence and social policy. The authorities have a ‘safety cushion’ in the form of obtaining additional revenues and reducing expenses, but their actions will probably weaken the country’s prospects for emerging from recession.
