Budget airline Ryanair has said a European Commission ruling announced on the 3 February 2004 that it received illegal incentives to use a small Belgian airport is a "disaster". Other airlines and the European Commission strongly disagreed. The Commission said: 'Today's decision is good for regional development and will result in increased development of low-cost airlines throughout the European Union, for the maximum benefit of consumers'. |
