Schulz: 1 million EU signatures could spur finance tax

EUObserver reported that Martin Schulz, President of the European Parliament, said on the 28 March 2012 that the European Citizens' Initiative - a participative democracy tool coming into effect on the 1 April 2012 - could be used to pressure EU politicians into accepting a financial transactions tax (FTT).
