Second round of negotiations between Cuba and the EU over a Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement

The second round of negotiations for an EU-Cuba Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement was held on 27-28 August 2014.

A representative from the EU's External Action Service (EEAS) said that officials had made 'substantial progress' towards coming to an agreement over a trade and political cooperation deal.

Negotiating directives leading to these negotiations were adopted by the Council of the European Union in February 2014. Formal talks started in April 2014.
