Other speakers at the EIA meeting were Joan Smith and Jean-Pierre Gaspard of SGML Technologies Ltd who were involved - amongst other things - in the technical aspects of moving the RAPID database to the Internet. They previewed a development in progress - the electronic dissemination of the EU budget in all eleven official languages with full text retrieval similar to RAPID as well as a table of contents approach. The aim is to make the information widely available considerably faster than in print. |
