Short guide to the European Convention on Human Rights, 2nd ed.

This book is intended to give a concise overview of the basic rights guaranteed by the European Convention on Human rights and the case-law relating to those rights arising under the Convention. It reviews the procedures followed by the European Commission and Court of Human Rights when reviewing individual petitions under the Convention, and the role of the Committee of Ministers as a supervisory organ as well as that of the secretary General of the Council of Europe in giving force to the European Convention of Human Rights. The text reflects changes adopted in accordance with the Protocol No.11, which introduced a single European Court of Human Rights as of 1 November 1998.
