Features published before that date are still available via an archive website (see related url hyperlinks0The Danish parliament discussed in February 2017 a proposal by the Eurosceptic and xenophobic Danish People's Party (DF) to ban prayer rooms in schools and other educational institutions. Several centre-left Social Democrats also spoke out in favour of the ban, which would only affect Muslim prayer rooms.

The two Danish government parties, the Liberal Party and the Liberal Alliance, argued that while praying in schools should be discouraged, it was not necessary to ban it under law.

The majority in parliament was not yet sure how to vote. The Danish press warned against ill-considered bans.
