Sigmar Gabriel seeks dialogue with Pegida followers

During a debate on how to deal with Germany's anti-Islam movement PEGIDA, Germany Vice Chancellor and Social Democratic Party (SPD) leader Sigmar Gabriel warned against marginalising this organisation's followers and asserting citizens' democratic right to be politically reactionary.

There has been a heated debate in Germany on what the best approach to address the concerns and ideas of those who have joined PEGIDA demonstrations since December 2014.
