Non-legislative resolution approved by the European Parliament's plenary session in January 2019, which reviews the situation across the European Union as regards fundamental rights in 2017.
The report denounces gender violence and discrimination, breaches of rule of law and hate speech in its assessment of fundamental rights in the EU in 2017. Members of the European Parliament call on EU institutions to effectively assess member states' respect for rule of law and condemn limitations imposed on freedom of speech, as well as violations against migrants and asylum seekers' fundamental rights in some EU countries.
The resolution was backed by the plenary session of the European Parliament on 16 January 2019.
