Solana laments rift between Europe and ‘religious’ US

Javier Solana, the European Union's High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, believes that Europe and the United States are growing further apart and that religion may be a factor in the growing gulf. Whereas Europe is secular, Mr Solana is surprised at how religion has permeated the White House's thinking.
