In this Commentary two views from our ECFR Council members on Spain’s foreign policy direction under the new Socialist government of Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, which came into office in June 2018. The authors illustrate the importance of an active Spain in the European project.

Cristina Manzano suggested that after years of punching below its weight, Spain was ready to retake the lead in the European project.
