General Motors' Spanish workers voted on the 26 October 2009 to approve Magna International's modified restructuring plan for their plant, bringing the Canadian company's takeover of Opel a step closer.

Separately, the European Commission said on the 26 October 2009 that it would rule whether the deal complied with its antitrust rules by the 27 November 2009.
