Specific educational measures to promote all forms of giftedness at school in Europe

This working document describes the educational policies and main measures implemented in 30 European countries to promote all forms of giftedness at school. It gives the definitions used in each country and, where appropriate, the criteria by which young people are regarded as gifted and/or having marked potential ability. It then describes special educational arrangements in primary and general secondary education along with the provision of teacher education in this field.

The report was prepared for the informal meeting of education ministers on this topic, on 16-17 March 2006 under the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
