While the post mortems continue on this year's inter-cabinet Commission football tournament, thoughts are already turning to next year.

The 1997 staging of the annual competition, organised by Belgian Competition Commissioner Karel van Miert's advisers, featured a specific Belgian novelty, les Jeux au Lambic, where participants could try a less aggressive sports such as darts.

After winning les jeux, it now falls to Austrian Agriculture Commissioner Franz Fischler's staff to organise next year's event. They are already searching for ideas, but are thought to have ruled out any suggestion of forcing competitors to scale beef mountains or empty wine lakes.
