Abstract:
The European sovereign debt crisis is evolving to a euro crisis. In addressing this crisis Germany has a special responsibility. Germany, as an exporting nation particularly dependent on a stable economic developments in Europe, the long-term stabilization of the euro in the its best interest - if necessary even at the cost of transfer payments to prevent a disintegration of the Eurozone.
