In a week when the EU's record on human rights has come in for criticism from several international figures, it's nice to see Commission officials doing their bit to isolate pariah regimes.

Just as EU foreign ministers are trying to agree on ways to discourage tourism to Myanmar because of its use of forced labour and disregard for democratic elections, guess where the Commission's staff association is organising a trip this winter?

Never mind. At least the Commission tourists can pass on the EU's best wishes to imprisoned democratic leader Aung San Suu Kyi.
